Rapper Vegedream to accompany Emmanuel Macron
Rapper Vegedream: Originally from his father from Gagnoa, a city in the center of this African country, the interpreter of Bring the Cup home will accompany the Head of State during his official visit, from December 20 to 22, 2019.
An unexpected guest. Vegedream will accompany Emmanuel Macron on his official visit to Côte d’Ivoire from December 20 to 22. Sachtela Evrard Djedje, whose real name is, because his career testifies, according to the Élysée, “to the strength of cultural ties between France and Côte d’Ivoire”.
In his childhood, the singer lived for a few years in Gagnoa – his father’s hometown – in the center of the country. He drew from it “This is Vegedream de Gagnoa”, a refrain that can be found in several of his songs, including the famous, Take the Cup home.

In 2018, the title dedicated to the Blues was on everyone’s lips when France became the world football champion for the second time. A few weeks after the coronation, Emmanuel Macron had also quoted the words of this heady air during the presentation of the Legion of Honor to the French team in the village hall of the Élysée Palace. To greet Samuel Umtiti, he said that he “went away victoriously and broke the gait”.

If Bring the cup home is a mainstream song, Vegedream has signed titles less compatible with diplomatic activities, such as Ma go sure or Elle est bonne sa mère. In this song, he intones: “She is good her mother, she twerks on the track / I smack a salary in the track of Iblis / Tomorrow is now, it’s almost six in the morning / Bundles of 500, we will be rich before the end. ” Everyone is free to enjoy their poetry …
Writer, singer, and footballer …
During this official trip, Emmanuel Macron also invited the writer Gauz and the singer Mata Gabin, both born in Côte d’Ivoire. There, he will also meet Didier Drogba at the inauguration of a sports complex. The footballer, who once played at the Marseille Olympics, has long been a figurehead of the Elephants, the Ivorian national team.
This official trip will not mark the first meeting between Vegedream and Emmanuel Macron. “He was already present at the diaspora event that we organized,” said a relative of the head of state. He evokes, in particular, a meeting organized last July during the official visit of the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo.
