Headphones cause cancer – does Bluetooth headset cause cancer?
Headphones cause cancer – does Bluetooth headset cause cancer- It all started with an article containing a petition signed by 250 scientists from 40 different countries published in 2015 that warned about the dangers of Wi-Fi and electromagnetic waves.
Doctors alerted the World Health Organization and the United Nations at the time about the carcinogenic risks of these wireless technologies. “Many recent scientific publications have shown that non-ionizing electromagnetic fields affect living organisms at much lower levels than most international and national guidelines,” doctors said.
A link was quickly established with the connected wireless headphones from Apple, the Airpods. An article published on the Medium platform on March 7 wonders whether “Airpods and other Bluetooth headphones are safe?”. A disturbing question when we know that the apple business sold 28 million Airpods last year. But as Le Parisien reports, there is no real study on the effects of Bluetooth, and nothing proves that it is actually dangerous for health.

In addition, the Airpods were marketed from December 2016, more than a year after the publication of the petition, and they are not cited by scientists. As well as Bluetooth and connected devices, including in its latest version updated in January 2019.
As for the possible danger of electromagnetic waves, no concrete scientific experiment has so far been able to prove this hypothesis. In contrast, the mobile phone waves (much more powerful), were the subject of a study in 2016 that has discarded a possible link between the use of phones and the development of brain cancers. But the WHO still monitors these waves closely since it classified them as “potentially carcinogenic to humans” (classification 2B) in 2011.
